In a scenario and in a campaign as atypical as the current ones, what is differentiating you from the rest of the companies in your segment?
In the 35 years that I have been in this sector, I do not remember a campaign as atypical as that of 2022/23, in which the shortage of olives not only affected Spain, but also Portugal. A situation so generic that I hope it is exceptional, although we should not take this exception as the norm. For our part, and always looking out for the producers, we try at all costs to ensure that their equipment, no matter how many years they have been working, continues to operate at full capacity with the lowest possible expense. In this way, we collaborate with professionals in these times when their income has decreased. This has always been, and continues to be, our commitment to our clients. We have launched a new, more economical and compact packaging machine. Faced with these abnormal situations, we must adapt, without making sudden maneuvers that deviate us from the line that past time guides us.
What solutions and/or products are you offering producers to adapt to this situation?
For our part, we have launched a new, more economical and compact packaging machine. In addition, we have incorporated the ECO function to our packaging machine, which considerably reduces energy consumption. And finally, as we have always done, we continue to maintain free telephone technical service for all our customers.
Many producers are hopeful for the next campaign, hoping to return to the usual production figures and even surpass them due to the new olive grove that is entering in production . Do you share this opinion? What perception do you have of the short-term future?
Nature knows how to adapt and although it is expected that the next campaign will not be a production record, in many areas the situation will have normalized. On the other hand, I think it will be compensated by the exponential increase in production of the still young olive trees recently planted throughout the peninsula.
